The Society for Cardiological Science and Technology

Useful Membership Information

Membership is only open to those already working in a Cardiological field in Cardiac Physiology or Associated area.

Please note that Society membership runs from the 1 January to 31st December each year regardless of when you joined or last renewed your registration.

We will accept applications and renewals for 2008 after 1st November 2007.

Please ensure that you complete the Application Form (those who have never been a member of the Society) , or the Renewal Form (those who are currently or who have in the past been members of the Society) in full. If you are a lapsed member please ensure that you give previous address and/or name from the time of registration, if that is appropriate. Without this information it can be impossible to find your previous registration. All completed forms should give a daytime telephone number where you may be contacted in case of query. BADGES

All candidates that successfully complete ASCST Parts I and II or the Certificate in Electrocardiography receive a free badge.

Anyone wishing to buy a badge, either because they have lost theirs, they would like the new badge, or they would like a student badge, should send their request in writing giving their membership number and Society status.

All badges are priced £10.

SOCIETY STATUS

Anyone that does not hold a Society examination is a Student Member (regardless of grade or banding).

Affiliate status is available to long standing members of the profession that can demonstrate that they did not have the opportunity to take a Society qualification or who wish to sit a higher qualification and can demonstrate that they did not have the opportunity to sit the lower, qualifying examination. Other interest parties may also have Affiliate status (those working in industry for example) may be entitled to affiliate status. If you wish to apply for affiliate status you should send a full and detailed C.V. to the Registrar in the first instance. The decision to award affiliate status is not one that can be made quickly, so please be patient.

FEES

These are listed on the application forms for either new members or renewals. Ensure that the form you will use for the current year.
